Linda Kalahiki
elevate church council secretary
Name: Linda Kalahiki (spouse Richard)
Occupation: Retired (former Chief Marking Officer, UHA Health Insurance)
Education: James B. Castle High School
Ministry Experience: I’ve served in local church leadership for over 25 years in prayer and small group ministries, and in community outreach as chair of a large Kailua/Waimanalo multi-church Community Harvest Festival in Kailua. I’ve also utilized my administrative skills in various church support roles.
Testimony: Born in California, at age 10 my family moved to Hawaii immediately after my mom and dad divorced and she quickly remarried. I’ve always felt a strong connection to God, praying to him and feeling him near—especially during my tumultuous childhood and teens. It was when our oldest son invited us to Hope Chapel Kaneohe that I first began understanding the person and character of Jesus Christ and have followed him since. God’s calling to join Elevate began after meeting Pastor Zach (PZ) at a Marketplace Small Group that I had led for six years at my workplace. It started with turning that small group into an expository Bible Study that PZ continues to lead today. This then led me, Richard and our son Andy to attend Elevate as visitors in 2018 while Richard and I still attended our home church on Friday nights. Eventually we answered God’s calling—making Elevate our home church where I happily pursue my passion to help others know the transforming power of God’s love in their lives. I currently serve on the prayer ministry, the church operations team, and as secretary on the church council. Richard and I have four grown sons, four grandchildren (with one more on the way!), one great-grandchild and our loving and spoiled doggie, Tink.
