Fight for your Family - Deuteronomy 3:20

“When the Lord has given security to the rest of the Israelites, as he has to you, and when they occupy the land the Lord your God is giving them across the Jordan River, then you may all return here to the land I have given you.’”

The tribes of Rueben, Gad, & Manasseh had conquered their land (east of the Jordan) and received their inheritance of land. But they couldn’t just settle down and rest. No, Moses told them they had to lead the other tribes into battle to help them do the same. Only then could they go home.

If we are already Jesus followers, we are kinda like the tribes on the east side of the Jordan. We’ve received God’s forgiveness, and we’re walking in the inheritance He gives for His people; God’s blessing as well as the fruit of the spirit. But we can’t just lean back and rest. It’s our job to lead our relatives towards God. It’s our job to help them fight their battles so that they can experience God’s blessing and inheritance just like we have.

Help us Lord not to forget those around us, but to lead them towards your promises for them 🙏🏼
