Don't Envy Others - Proverbs 23:17-18

“Don’t envy sinners, but always continue to fear the Lord. You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed.”

Proverbs 23:17-18 NLT

This is basically the message from yesterday summed up in 2 sentences. When we let envy, jealousy, or lust have its way in us, it leads to disappointment.

BUT when we fear the Lord and put our hope in Him, we can’t be disappointed because HE becomes our source, our goal, & our end result. When that’s the case, it’s impossible to be unhappy because every good & perfect gift comes FROM Him, fullness of joy exist in HIS presence, goodness & mercy follow those that seek God.

Help us father to see the futility in being jealous of what others have. Help us to repent and turn towards you. Help us to have faith in the reward YOU have for us and to keep moving in your direction. I pray that you’d keep our hope in you and keep us from being disappointed in what you provide.

We trust you Lord, change our hearts, start with mine. 🙏🏼
